Xenogarden

"Xenogarden" is an immersive, site-specific installation in which the ecosystem of the Valencia Botanical Garden (in this case, a tropical greenhouse) is viewed from a non-human perspective.

Through the use of sound, smoke and laser lighting on the diverse flora of the greenhouse, it shows from a post-natural point of view what is not perceptible to humans. In this way, a non-anthropocentric vision of the ecosystem is generated, helping to raise awareness and understanding of the experience of other living beings that inhabit the environment around us.

It proposes, through technology, another way of exploring the diversity and beauty of plants that are not common or native to a particular place. The multimedia intervention creates a sensory experience that invites visitors to appreciate the shapes, colours and sounds of exotic or rare plants.
